The Power of the Google Keywords Tool
The objective of any site is to get visitors and then convert those visitors into paying customers. Your Google Keywords Tool can play a big part in this. Make sure you have the right key words on your site to attract people who want to buy the types of products you offer. The more relevant the Google keyword that you are ranking for, is to your site information or product the better it is. You need to make sure the key words that have got you to the top of Google are the words your visitors are using. They have to be relevant to the visitors needs and wants.
You should be checking your analytic reports for the keywords used by visitors. Need to look for the keywords that brought visitors, the number that clicked on your page and ones that didn’t. If you see keywords that have had a response then they may be worth to building traffic around. Make sure they meet your niche criteria. Your goal is to keep your niche tight until you become a “authority site” and rank number one. Remember to search for and target other long tail keywords that contain your ranking keyword.
When looking at any keywords make sure the keywords are relevant to your site. If not, can you tweak the site and/or add a page to become more relevant. Maybe you are drawing the wrong customer with your keywords. A lot of no click or quick click bounces. You might have to go the other way and tighten up you niche keywords. Again go to your Google Keywords Tool.
Having a keyword with 1 or 2 responses is not something to jump up and down about, but worth watching. I like to examine my successful keywords and not so successful keywords by running them through a keyword analyiss program to find related keywords I may want to target. I do a regular Google search using these keywords to see what comes up on Google.
Questions I ask:
- Is this where I want my site to show up?
- How tough does the competition look?
- Are the websites home page optimized for this keyword or is it a secondary page.
- Are there ads, is it a money keyword.
I then do a seo keyword analysis on the keyword to find out more about the competition.
Moving on Up With SEO Optimization
Once you get to the top 5 for a good niche keyword then your money work begins. If it is a good relevant keyword that is ranking 3rd you need to push it to #1. Your traffic could quadruple for that keyword. I have seen sites go from 700 visits per month for a 3rd slot ranking to 3,000 visits for a number one ranking slot.
How to push it up farther? Let’s say your niche primary keyword is “seo software”. You need to find related keywords to use as categories, titles of articles on your website, or as anchor text on quality backlinks. You must continue to use the (Google Keywords Tool) to find more and more niche keywords. Keep the list growing.
Here is a example of related keywords with (exact search volume): seo software(6600) – seo tool(1300) – seo guide(1000) – seo program(1000)
As you can see “seo software” has the highest search volume and would take the longest to rank for. To help it rank faster we support the page with articles in a post format that will rank sooner. As the easier secondary keywords start to rank they will push the “seo software” page up Google.
Before you spend a lot of time promoting a targeted keyword make sure you have run it through a seo search optimization tool to find out the strenght of the competition.
To push the other keyword posts up the Google mountain you need to have quality backlinks with the right anchor text. To learn more about proper SEO , checking out the competition and quality backlinks see the articles at SEO Optimization. It explores some of the best seo tools available.
