Dividend Paying Stocks
As interest rates continue to hover around zero, many investors are turning to dividend paying stocks to help boost their monthly income. In addition to being a great way to supplement your income, dividend stocks also provide the investor a much needed sense of security.
When most people think about stocks that pay dividends, they automatically assume that the company is either in the financial sector or the utility sector. While it is certainly true that these industries typically return profits to their investor via dividends, many blue chips companies also declare quarterly dividends. A few examples include Pfizer, Merck, Johnson & Johnson, at&t, and Kraft.
When it comes to investing in stocks, however, dividend yield is not the only criteria that should be considered. All investments involve at least an element of risk and, as such, it is typically a good idea to consult a certified financial advisor, or investment specialist, before placing any trades.
