Choosing an Effective SEO Company

The problem with finding the best SEO (search engine optimisation) company to work with you on your Internet marketing campaigns is that as a layman in a market that is full of smoke and mirrors who do you believe. Search marketing is a bit like recruiting sales people – even bad sales people learn enough about how to sell themselves to get through an interview and it’s only when they have worked for you for six months that you really see how good they are.

Companies looking for a good SEO company must ask the SEO company about the results that they have delivered for their clients and find out how long they have been optimising the websites of those clients. Some SEO companies will show you a few websites that they have optimised for the search engines for some local search terms such as “Internet marketing Cheltenham” which is far easier that optimising for “Internet Marketing London” or just plain “Internet Marketing”.

The point here is that you need your prospective SEO company to show you some examples of work they have done for websites that are being promoted on the same scale as the one that you are promoting. An online marketing company who can demonstrate good search engine ranking results for national search terms are far better than those that are just competing, on their clients behalf locally.

To optimise for national terms an SEO company will have to do a lot more work that one optimising websites which have a local bias and this will be reflected in the price that they charge you. With serach engine marketing you really do get what you pay for and so my advice is to go for the Internet marketing partner that can prove themselves to you and expect to pay for the results that you want to achieve! If it was easy then everybody would be on the front page of Google and there are only ten positions so choose those SEO companies who eat their own dog food and who can show you outstanding results.
