Affiliate Tax in California Reeks Havoc!
California has passed a law that requires online retailers including Amazon to charge their customers sales tax from sales made on their Amazon site.
This news has hit the affiliate industry in California like a brick! What does it mean for other affiliate companies in the future? We can only speculate. Affiliate Marketers College has the full story.
Unfortunately this is hard for many online affiliate marketing businesses to take if their online businesses were predominantly promoting Amazon affiliate products. There has apparently been a push to pass this law for awhile.
These effected internet marketers will have to either create a website from scratch or will need to now look further afield to find affiliate programs that suit the needs of their websites. This shouldn’t be too difficult in most cases, but the problem will be the amount of time require to move everything across. Lots of wasted time involved.
