One of the best innovations brought about by the emergence of the internet is the email system. Email is short for electronic mail and by definition, it is a method for people to exchange messages via the web. The sender and receiver don’t have to be both online at the same time for the exchange to function. Just like real life snail mail, an email is sent to a mailbox which can be retrieved by the receiver at a later time. Email lists can be compared to address books.
